Anamnesis
At the beginning, the doctor will discuss current symptoms, any previous illnesses, known diagnoses (the so-called "previous history"), any current medication and contextual factors such as work/family situation, stress factors, etc.. It is an important first step in clarifying needs together and identifying possible treatment options.
Symptom-related or general physical examination
The physical examination includes palpation, auscultation and tapping (percussion) of the body to find indications of possible disorders or illnesses, often supplemented by an indicative neurological examination (e.g. reflex test, sensitivity test).
Laboratory tests
The blood and urine tests in the basic laboratory provide important initial information about the condition and functioning of internal organs such as the liver, kidneys, thyroid, pancreas and bone marrow (blood formation), as well as the metabolic and hormonal balance.
If necessary, depending on the issue and indication, more extensive additional tests can also be carried out in the specialist laboratory, for example a comprehensive hormone check, an amino acid profile, a mineral and nutrient analysis, a check for risk factors, etc.
On-site medical check-ups
Regular blood sugar checks, blood pressure measurements, measurement of blood oxygen saturation and a urine strip test for sugar, bacterial urinary tract infection, ketones and protein (loss) are carried out in-house. During a fasting cure stay, we measure the blood sugar level and the depth of ketosis using blood tests.
Ultrasound
Ultrasound examinations of the internal organs and thyroid gland, the large vessels and an echocardiography of the heart are optionally available.
Resting ECG
A resting ECG is usually a routine examination and standard internal medicine procedure; it is carried out in particular in the presence of corresponding symptoms such as chest pain, thoracic tightness/tenderness, etc.
INBODY© 770 measurement
A modern INBODY© 770 measurement is optionally available for a comprehensive body analysis. The bio-impedance analysis provides over 40 important parameters such as (total) muscle mass, segmental muscle distribution, the amount of visceral body fat, a body water analysis, the phase angle (to determine cell stability) and more. The values obtained are then directly evaluated, discussed in detail and appropriate recommendations are made.
